Cura personalis(Latin), meaning care of the whole person. This fundamental value of the Society of Jesus involves three concepts, according to Brian McDermott, S.J.: Treating people as individuals and honoring their unique worth; caring for the “whole” person (including physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual health); and taking into account people’s backgrounds, including their family life, nationality, and culture.
Our Mission, Vision, and Values
Our mission
Cura personalis serves the public good by solving complex systems problems to improve human health, integrating research, technology, analysis, policy development, advocacy, education, outreach and executive/management advisory skills.
Our vision
Cura personalis will be the preeminent thought leaders in transformational healthcare systems research and solutions. By 2020, Cura personalis will drive a shift in the pattern of health care spending in the U.S. from programs consumed by cost of care to systems centered on the value of health as a result in a paradigm shift in health care delivery.
Our values
We are a for-profit, politically non-partisan, private, policy institute with a Technoprogressive agenda
Ethics
We operate our organization in a dynamic business climate of changing regulations and increasingly demanding compliance requirements. We pride ourselves on both our understanding of ethics and codes of conduct and our stringent application of those codes to all aspects of our work.
Integrity and respect
We expect and practice excellence in our professional relationships. Employees, regardless of position within the Institute, are afforded the same respect and dignity as we wish for ourselves. We build trust among clients, collaborators, and colleagues by displaying an unshakable integrity in our professional interactions.
Ensuring excellence
The pursuit of excellence infuses everything we do, from how we think about a problem to how we execute a program to solve the problem. We continuously seek out and apply best practices within our Institute and across the programs we design and manage for our clients.
Embracing diversity
We continuously strive to build a staff that reflects the diversity of populations we serve. Our employees will have the breadth of background, experience, and perspective needed to enable lasting change in the communities where we work.
Client success
We keep our constant focus on the success of our clients. We do this not only because we want satisfied clients but also because it is by enabling a client to succeed in its mission that we serve the public good. We can imagine no accolade greater than the client who returns to us for solutions to ever more complex societal challenges.
Advancing the public good
True to our mission, we seek work that brings value to society and presents our staff the opportunity to help shape, sustain, or secure the public good.
Financial sustainability
Cura personalis, will earn our right to exist and so deeply value the long-term, financial health of the Institute because it provides us, and those that will follow us, the ability to keep serving the public good.
Professional growth and personal well-being of employees
As a professional services organization, we recognize that our greatest assets are our employees. To ensure their longevity in this institution, we continuously invest in a work environment that affords all employees the opportunity to grow professionally, achieve new levels of leadership within the organization and enjoy a healthy balance between their work and personal lives.
As the variety of our work, range of our competencies and diversity of our clients demonstrate, the key to leading in the health systems field is working across the continuum of health and health care programs. Our work ranges from policy modeling and analysis to program design, from business process enhancements to technology strategies, from technical assistance and program evaluation to knowledge transfer and communications. Our clients range from those leading efforts to increase access to care for at-risk populations to those improving the quality of care for our deployed armed forces, and from programs in child health promotion to others focused on disaster response.
Cura personalis is a research institute, working to serve as the nation’s thought leaders in transformational healthcare systems research and solutions.
Our diverse staff brings real-world experience to support the delivery of high quality care to individuals, families, local communities, members of the military, and veterans. Cura personalis researches and models the business process, technology, and cultural changes needed to enable future health systems that value health, ensure access to high quality care, and are sustainable.
Our work helps the nation's health system provide better care today and achieve better health tomorrow.
